We’re a Baton Rouge-based, Registered Investment Advisor firm that specializes in concentrated investments. We compile in-depth, comprehensive research on every company in our recommended portfolio, ensuring greater reliability and accuracy in our investments.

The New York Stock Exchange began in 1792 under the shade of a Buttonwood tree. A small group of investors loaned money to the local business owners and farmers that they wanted to see succeed. Investing meant more than earning a profit; it was about supporting the businesses one believed in.

Our strategy is no different. We fill our portfolio with companies that we support, investing in their success and yours at the same time. Most investment firms give you too many diluted strategies to choose from, each of them focusing on different results. At BF/Anderson, we have one strategy, and it’s focused on you.

Our Staff

Budd “Andy” Anderson / President

With more than four decades of experience in the securities industry, Andy formed his own portfolio management firm in 1995. Throughout his career, he has developed a distinguished reputation for his approach to identifying high quality growth stocks, a mainstay of the firm’s investment philosophy. Known for his investment acumen and overall knowledge of securities markets, Andy has been featured in numerous business publications and media outlets to discuss a variety of financial topics. A lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Budd received a B.S. in Finance from Louisiana State University.

Amy Anderson / Investment Advisor Associate & Marketing Director

In addition to her role as an investment advisor associate, Amy serves as the firm’s marketing director. Her primary responsibilities include managing client portfolios, securing and maintaining business partnerships with prospective and current clients, as well as marketing the firm and its focused investment philosophies. Another graduate of Louisiana State University, Amy holds a B.A. in Political Science.

Matthew Spencer / Chief Compliance Officer

As the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, Matthew is an integral member of the BF/Anderson team. He constantly works to improve the firm’s quantitative investment process and assists in the development and enhancement of the firm's products. Matthew also conducts all trading functions for the firm, including portfolio allocation, order execution, and daily account reconciliation. Mr. Spencer received a B.S. in Finance and an M.B.A. from Louisiana State University.
